George Weston Foods
implements viper:online>collaborate
Perth - 28 October 2004
After successfully piloting Prodata's viper:online
system back in 2003, George Weston Foods (GWF) Meat and
Dairy division has now successfully implemented viper:online>collaborate.
Since the beginning of August live freight
orders have been electronically received into the viper
system from GWF's SAP database and passed on to their
Perth distribution carrier, Rand National Transport.
After being picked, freight orders
are being transmitted via viper's native EDI format and
distributed to Rand's Transport Management System via
the intelligent viper:online>collaborate hub.
GWF and Rand now have the ability to
capitalise on their collaborative IT relationship by
implementing viper's Freight Invoice Reconciliation and
Reverse Billing modules to further decrease payment
delays and write offs.
Darrell Behan, Project Manager at GWF
says "My job was to streamline processes for the Meat & Dairy Division and get accountability for freight services. The
viper:online system enabled us to achieve the objective to centralise management of orders and trade electronically with carriers.
viper:online has removed several manual intensive tasks and allowed us to track and process documents online without going back to carriers to chase paper work."
